Hi Pepijn - I received it (the Lapaxe) and have been sincerely enjoying it. Really nice instrument - thank you. These days, I am a semi-pro gigging musician. My main gigging instruments are custom builds. I know good craftsmanship when I hear it. It is refreshing to find such great craftsmanship in a travel guitar. The Lapaxe is the best that I'm aware of. When I'm on the road, your work helps me to keep my chops up, and enjoy playing to the extent that I don't have to "think" about the instrument - instead, I just play. I had the top-of-the-line (competitor) and I couldn't overlook its shortcomings - I kept feeling the need to "adjust something". With the lap axe,I can just play and forget that the instrument is there - nothing between me, the melodies in my head, and getting my fingers to obey my brain. Again - really nice job. Thanks so much - I am grateful to have FINALLY found something that fits this need - I've been searching for YEARS!!!

My Second Lap Axe guitar arrived today. I was amazed by how breathtakingly beautiful the guitar was when I unwrapped it from its carefully cushioned box, soft carrying case, and bubble wrap. But, the proof of your achievement was in its tone and responsiveness! As a superbly crafted guitar-its tone blew me away! What an incredible instrument! I am in awe! The chambered design adds a whole new dimension to the guitar's acoustics. Truly, I have no idea how you have managed to realize such musical excellence in such a compact design. It is an amazing aesthetic accomplishment. The artistic workmanship is so impressive; it is a profound joy to play! Just by interest, I had expected the guitar stand to ship separately, but its design is so ingenious, it fit easily and arrived with the guitar. The Lap Axe is destined to be a key player in the next wave of innovation in the future of guitar design. Thank you again!

P.S. Please assure those in the United States fortunate enough to purchase your guitars that they should not worry at all about the difference between tracking packages via UPS and/or FEDEX and packages shipped through Singapore Post. At times, when tracking the shipment, the package seemed to have stalled or even disappeared altogether, for several days or even up to a week. In each case, however, it arrived perfectly in pristine condition. My first Lap Axe in December arrived in 3-weeks, whereas my second Lap Axe arrived exactly 2-weeks. All I can say is that, "Their patience will be rewarded... It is absolutely worth the wait!"

I have played my Lap axe guitar daily now for over four months, and it has been a complete pleasure! My first Lap axe guitar was a gift from my wife, but it has come to be so essential to my life that I am buying a second from you with a chambered body and bocote wood to experience a tonal quality just as wonderful as my first guitar, but uniquely different. Your creative use of exotic woods enriches, modulates, and harmonizes the musical and aesthetic elements of your guitars. My Lap axe guitar offers me constant entertainment and balances perfectly with its strap. When I play it without an amp, it never intrudes on others’ conversations, yet its twin pick-ups sound great with an effects device or a full-size amp. Its convenience is unparalleled because of its perfect size and weight, which makes it possible for me to practice/play daily. It is so easy to carry and fun that now I simply forgo lugging my full-sized guitars along with me.
The workmanship on my Lap axe guitar reveals the utmost care as well. A test of its superb construction and craftsmanship occurred when a friend, carrying it out of its case from the car dropped it over four feet onto our new stone walkway. Landing that hard, I was certain that it must have cracked or suffered other fatal damage, but other than a few tiny scratches that did not even pierce the finish, it was pristine. In under a minute, I had tuned it once more, and it was, and is, as wonderful and responsive as ever. Had it still been in its case, I am sure that one would not know even that it had fallen. Although I would not recommend such a heart-stopping test to anyone else, it was reassuring to learn that the fall did nothing to harm my Lap axe, since it certainly would have been catastrophic to any of my other guitars.
As impressed as I was, and am, by the layout of your website, I must admit that I felt some initial reservation when my wife told me that she had ordered me a gift from as far away as Singapore. Yet, your rapid response, professionalism, and attention to detail, however, made the purchase a pleasure. I can imagine a day when the Lap axe brand will become a household name around the world and, for my own sake, I look forward to the chance to build my own collection of your guitars. My wife and my sons who play bass, cello, viola, violin, and guitar increasingly have begun to find excuses to borrow my Lap axe. This is just a quick message to say I got the guitar yesterday just as I was heading out the door for a weekend away! Have had the chance to spend about an hour or so with it & I LOVE IT! It's great!i the neck shape, maybe it's the ergonomic body shape...?), much more practical to use sitting down, the jack is in a better position, the neck & maple fretboard are lovely, & the pickups are great - having 2 pickups is so much better than just the one (I forever had to use completely different tone settings when going from (my other travel guitar) to full size guitar to get decent tone from it, but don't think it will be such an issue with the lap axe at all!). It looks really cool too! I know my musician friends are gonna love it too . I've also got it tuned to standard F at the moment & am able to keep it in tune with no problems, & that's with the .10 gauge strings you put on for me - am going to try it in standard E tuning later just to see if she'll handle it... But I just wanted to say a massive thank you for such a marvellous guitar - it ticks ALL the boxes that I WISHED my other travel guitar. did (well, if I could have one more wish met ,it would also be available with a Steinberger style headless guitar trem system... But perhaps that's something for the future...!? Ha ha!).
I've been playing this through the Line 6 Mobile In interface & Mobile Pod app which i got the other day on my iPhone & I'm getting some fantastic sounds out of it: can't wait to try it at home in my studio when I get back after the weekend!
