It was a wonderful perfformance by one of our favourite guitarists. We were also extremely impressed with Joe's vocal performance that night as the band had just come off of 23 gruelling travel hours! This was the start of a long tour. We had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful bassist Carmine Rojas, keyboardist Rick Melick and drummer Tal Bergman. It was good to chat about the tour and we also got to show off one of our beautiful Lapaxe travel guitars that we had brought down for Joe to take with him for the long flights ahead. The results were even better than expected as some of Canada's fine guitarists were amazed by the features in versatility, sound and stage performance durability and handling. My 21 hours of  flights and lay-over waits were also kept from being too gruelling by having my deluxe with me at all times to practice with my iRig  and Amplitube app, as well as laying down some new tracks on my laptop. All in all, the trip was great fun and I even managed to squeeze in a round of golf or two between sessions. My Lapaxe deluxe even found it's way onto a few of the beautiful golf courses in British Columbia and Alberta. My trip through the Rocky Mountains took me to some small towns and communities where the music is great but there is less access to new and exciting products. Musicians had the opportunity to try out the Lap axe EX, and I had the good fortune of jamming with many of the fine musicians who are some of the wests best kept secrets. The hospitality shown by the people was amazing. A few surprises were also in store for some of the many golfers who frequent the region to play on the hundreds of beautiful golf courses that trhe area as Lapaxe made it's way to the first tee. The EX is slightly longer than the standard model, giving you the opportunity to play using standard tuning. This travel guitar has all of the same great hardware features as well as a nice variety of available finishes. The Lap axe EX has been designed to meet the needs of the working, traveling player who is looking for a cool alternative, portable performance instrument to take anywhere. I have personally been using the EX on my jazz gig and have been very impressed with the beautiful warm tone and playability. We ship and recommend the Lap axe™ to be tuned a minor third above (G,C,F,Bflat,D,G), to achieve the most precision tuning results possible. The highest recommended alternative is tuning the lowest (6th)string up to a B, and each string accordingly. Pa Alex, our factory manager took me through all of the stages of our manufacturing process and fortunately we decided to update our video series with a complete and comprehensive look at how it's done. We also had a chance to test some of the new models in production and meet with our design team to discuss all of the ideas that are continually being presented by our very creative group.</p> <p>      I will definitely need to brush up on my Bahasa language skills to better express my sincere thanks and appreciation for all of the hard work and dedication all of our Indonesian members display for us. I also look forward to my next visit to to the factory and a chance to once again see our team in action . A series of Lap axe travel guitars with chambered bodies are currently in production. All of these great instruments have two hollow chambers and the tops are being constructed of different species of beautiful wood such as Bocote, Cocobolo, Marble Wood, Wenge, Yellow Hearth just to mention a few. These amazing instruments will also be combined with special fingerboards using the same or similar woods. Featured inlays will also be available on some of these lightweight guitars. Unique features of these instruments include increased sustain, a rounder warmer tone as well as the obvious decrease in weight due to the hollow chambers. The event was a great success. Our contestants all came with one thing in mind. Their goal was to win the grand prize Lap axe Deluxe travel guitar.  They all did a fine job from the amateurs, to the pros that showed up to perform. We were particularily impressed with how quickly they all adapted to the small size and tuning of the Lap axe.
